A script editor’s life is a chaotic and busy one. At least that’s my excuse for being at times ridiculously bad at updating my website (and socials, not to mention responding to emails and messages and generally managing any kind of social life). But, well, I have been busy over the past 2 years…
Back in the summer of 2021 I joined the script team on award-winning UK soap Emmerdale. If I thought working on River City was frenetic, Emmerdale gives it a good run for its money. But I’ve worked on some amazing stories, with some amazing writers, directors and cast, and ticked off quite a few soap bucket list items. From car crashes, to serial killers, to character departures and deaths, to Xmas episodes and more. And there’s tonnes more exciting things coming up.
And if that wasn’t enough, earlier this year, two plays I wrote were selected for staged readings at the King’s Head Theatre, to great audience feedback. So now I’m looking into ways of getting them proper runs and bringing them to bigger audiences! It was a massive challenge producing two plays next to still working on Emmerdale, but I managed to keep most of my sanity. But I couldn’t have done it without the fantastic directors, Adam Hannigan for Queers and Andrew Beckett for Out of Control, and amazing cast. Fingers crossed for the future…
